In this magazine we’d like to show you what inspires us as contractors in the world of international construction. People have often asked us about the variety of projects we take on in various parts of the world. What we would like to make clear is that while different circumstances are managed by different solutions, in the end our business comes down to the same basic principles everywhere: people, quality, responsibility and understanding our clients’ needs.

When leafing through this magazine, you’ll get an impression of the variety of sectors and areas that BAM International operates in. A fishery harbour in Sri Lanka, office towers and hotels in the Emirates, football stadiums and airport runways in Africa, and LNG jetties in Australia, to name just a few. We’ll let some of those projects speak for themselves: why were they built and how, as their main contractors, have we been able to add value for our clients?

You’ll also be able to read how some of our key people view the developments in their respective areas, both geographical ones and areas of expertise. Unavoidably at this time, their stories will include observations on the effects of the credit crunch on our sector and our clients worldwide. I’m glad to tell you though that we are cautiously optimistic about the future, as we’re seeing how governments and business alike are now embracing the challenge to reconsider their positions and prepare for a better, healthier economic future.
